What are the things required when one is switching from an IT field to his core field (whatever he/she has studied during Engineering)
Hello Everyone, I am a Chemical Engineer who has done M.Tech from IIT Kanpur (2004 passout). I had completed B.Tech. (Chemical) from Coimbatore Institute of Technology in the year 2002. I got a job in an IT company through campus during my M.Tech. Though I always was interested in working in my own Chemical Engineering field, I couldn't manage to get a job in that area. Forcefully, I had to join the IT company. In just few more days, I will complete one year in this industry and I am still interested in a shift. I tried during this one year a couple of times, but unfortunately couldnt get through in any company of my domain. Now a lot of my friends are saying that it will be diffcult for me to switch over. Looks like most of the companies are not even having a look at my resume though I am interested to join even as a fresher! Please can someone advice as to what needs to be done. Thanks in advance.
